This Trust set up by CBEC is becoming an important player in habitat protection in the Far North. Attracting funds from a range of sources including tree sales to tourists, it purchases trees from local nurserys for its revegetation projects.

The Trust's first major initiative is the Sweetwater Lakes project, a point with DOC and the local community to protect a series of beautiful dune lakes adjacent to 90 Mile Beach. The Trust is aiming to fund a habitat protection gang for fencing and planting as well as developing amenities such as the Sweetwater Lakes walkway.
