• provide a forum for discussion of co-operative actions on international development issues.

• strengthen national and international links betweens organisations and individuals involved in international development.

• liaise with the NZ Government and the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs and Trade (MFAT).

• raise international aid and development issues with political parties.

• increase public awareness of international aid and development needs and issues.

Any organisation involved in aid and development activity can apply to join CID as either a Full or Associate member.
Individuals can apply to join as Associate members.
