Our Mission
To Provide and Implement Sustainable Environmental Technologies appropriate to Whanau Hapü and Iwi development for the preservation, conservation and enhancement of Nga Taonga Tuku Iho (The environment and all things gifted to mankind). Project Profile Kore Para is a nation wide project to help develop sustainable Mäori Kitiaki (guardianship) of New Zealands natural resources. KPA currently has offices in Palmerston North, Hamilton and Kaikohe and is supported by a large number of individuals concerned with the enhancement of New Zealands natural environment. KPAs main strength comes from an understanding of Mäori cultural values of waste treatment and how technology, when implemented optimally, can compliment these values. KPA's goals are to eliminate waste in New Zealand with the help of Mäori Communities and Mäori enterprise. Achieving our goal will result in:
Sustainable Mäori resource management and a goal that aims towards total waste elimination is an example to New Zealand and the World as a whole. Back to TopHow will KPA achieve its goals To achieve KPAs goals of waste elimination through sustainable development in the Mäori environmental sector KPA will endeavour to promote and implement simple waste elimination projects into Mäori communities. These projects are aimed to achieve. Education By transferring knowledge, skills, and technology involved with waste treatment to the wider community. Waste Elimination Through providing and starting waste elimination systems that either reduce, recycle or reuse waste streams relevant to Mäori communities. Economic Recovery By developing strategies that recover the economic benefits incorporated with waste elimination systems. Incentives By creating model waste elimination system presentations based on successful waste elimination projects to provide incentives for other communities to become involved in waste elimination. This information is constantly updated on the Internet and distributed to media groups and other interested individuals, communities and organisations. Employment By creating short-term employment setting up waste elimination projects and long-term employment running waste elimination projects for people within the community. To assist with achieving individual projects for Mäori communities we will utilise our large resource base of experts in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, energy efficiency and optimisation, economic evaluation, financial and social cost-benefit analyses, operations research, human resource development, project management, process control and plant operations.
