do?
| Provides a network for medical practitioners to explore, extend and integrate acupuncture within the context of their existing medical practice. | |||
| Liases with similar interest groups within New Zealand eg Physiotherapy Acupuncture Assosciation NZ and overeseas - Australian, Canadian and American Medical Acupuncture Societies. | |||
Maintains runs and maintains the Register of Medical Acupuncturists. To be admitted to the register, medical practitioners must be licensed with the Medical Council of New Zealand to practice medicine and complete 150 hours of approved acupuncture training and pass an examination in acupuncture competance. To remain on the register, members must also complete 30 hours of acupuncture CME every 3 years. |

| Runs a teaching program designed to provide aspiring medical acupuncturists with the skills neccessary to pass the competancy examination and be admitted to the register. Courses are also available to extend existing practitioners knowledge and skills. | |||
| Runs conferences and workshops to extend the available knowledge of medical acupuncture. This includes participating in the Pan Pacific Medical Acupuncture Conference every 4 years. |
