The second foreshore and seabed hikoi
Hikoi Takutaimoana II
Assemble in Mayoral Drive (behind Aotea Square), Auckland City from 9am. The hikoi commences at 10am and will proceed down Queen Street, Customs Street, Quay Street, Tamaki Drive (escort by waka taua), then up Kitemoana Street to Orakei Marae (Bastion Point).

Wellington hikoi convoy, 15 October
If you want to include your vehicle in the hikoi II convoy travelling to Auckland on Friday, the meeting point is WELTECH, in the Admin Carpark, 9 Buick Street, Petone at 9-30am, the convoy will be leaving at 10am. Buick Street is off Jackson Street, the corner with a National Bank on it - turn north into Buick Street off Jackson Street (that's the opposite direction to where the beach is!). If you get lost and need directions, or need to contact the convoy before it leaves for some other reason, phone the WELTECH office (04) 920 2521 or Toni 021 253 4060.
Dunedin solidarity hikoi, 16 October
The hikoi will assemble at 10am in front of the historic Rongo Rock memorial to Te Whiti o Rongomai and Tohu Kaakahi, passive resistance political leaders from Parihaka who were imprisoned in Dunedin at the corner of Portsmouth Drive and Portabello Road. The hikoi will take the following route; along Portsmouth Drive, crossing at Anzac Ave into St Andrews St, along George St to the Octagon. At the Octagon, Green Party MP Metira Turia, who has been sitting on the select committee, will speak along with other invited speakers. For more information see the press release.
