  • Update: 7 April 2010 - the Solicitor-General has concluded that the Crown cannot appeal the jury's verdict, but consideration will now be given to commencing civil proceedings against the Waihopai Ploughshares to seek $1.1 million in damages

    Support activity and trial updates

    • Wednesday, 17 March, 5.45pm: the verdict is not guilty
    • Wednesday, 17 March, 3.45pm: the jury has gone out to begin its deliberations
    • Wednesday, 17 March, lunchtime: the prosecution and defence finished their closing arguments this morning and the judge will begin his summing up when court resumes at 2.15pm today
    • Wednesday, 17 March: court will resume at 10am with closing arguments from the prosecution and defence lawyers, followed by the judge summing up and instructing the jury who will then go out to consider their verdict
    • Tuesday, 16 March: after being in recess for legal arguments for most of today, court resumed at around 3pm with defence witnesses, then closed for the day just after 4pm.
    • Friday, 12 March: the court will be in recess on Monday, 15 March, and closed to the public while legal arguments are considered. Court will resume at 10am, Tuesday, 16 March
    • Thursday, 11 March: the venue for the Ploughshares concert tonight has been changed due to the weather and it will be from 7pm at Stillwaters
