Ameriyah Massacre

12 February 1998 was the seventh anniversary of the bombing of the Ameriyah shelter in Baghdad, a 'smart' bomb exploded inside the shelter killing nearly 500 women and children who had taken shelter in it while the 'coalition' forces carried out their 'surgical strikes'. In the British newspapers, Douglas Hurd and others said it was Saddam Hussein's fault for putting military installations in cities and endangering civilians.
