2016 CAFCA Annual General Meeting Minutes Held on September 26 at the Christchurch WEA. PRESENT: Paul Broady, Daniela Bagozzi, Dave Evans, Brian Turner, Paul Piesse, James Ayers, Colleen Hughes, Murray Horton, Jeremy Agar, John Ring, John & Katherine Peet APOLOGIES: Prue Hyman, Tony Orman, Noeline Gannaway, Viola Palmer, Peter Wood, Denis O'Connor. MOVED (Paul Piesse/Colleen Hughes).That the apologies be accepted. CARRIED. MINUTES: The Minutes of the 2015 AGM were read. MOVED (Brian Turner/Daniela Bagozzi): That the minutes of the previous AGM are a true and accurate record. CARRIED CAFCA ACCOUNTS: James Ayers presented the CAFCA accounts for April 2015 – March 2016 (they were distributed to members with the August 2016 Watchdog). MOVED (James Ayers/Colleen Hughes): That the CAFCA accounts be tabled. CARRIED MOVED (Daniela Bagozzi/ Katherine Peet): That this AGM endorses the prudent practice of keeping a minimum of one year's operational expenditure in hand. CARRIED CAFCA/ABC ORGANISER ACCOUNT: James Ayers presented the CAFCA/ABC Organiser Account Financial Report for April 2015 – March 2016 (see below). MOVED (James Ayers/ Brian Turner): That the CAFCA/ABC Organiser Account be tabled. CARRIED MOVED (Katherine Peet) A vote of thanks for Murray and Bill. CARRIED BY ACCLAMATION ELECTION OF OFFICERS: The current committee were all available to stand again. MOVED (Daniela Bagozzi/Katherine Peet).That the current members of the Committee (Bill Rosenberg, Brian Turner, Colleen Hughes, James Ayers, Jeremy Agar, John Ring, Lynda Boyd, Murray Horton, Paul Piesse, and Warren Brewer) be re–elected. CARRIED ORGANISER'S REPORT: Murray Horton presented his annual Report, (which is in this Watchdog). It covered: A strategy meeting, membership, finances, the Roger Award, the Organiser Account, Foreign Control Watchdog, Facebook, Keep Our Assets, relations with political parties, unions, media profile, TPPA, CAFCA's priorities and ongoing projects. GENERAL BUSINESS: There was a general discussion. The meeting then ended. Those present had supper; then watched part of a DVD of the 2015 Roger Award event in Palmerston North.
