The Cry of a Sanctioned Iraqi Child

1. They've come to get me mother it's goodbye
promise me mother you won't cry

2. don't you worry it'll be alright
in the heavens I'll be a shining light

3. I'll meet father who died with no sin
he got killed in a war he did not believe in

4. mother mother you won't here me complain
mother mother this is the end of pain

5. we are the children of Iraq crying
help us help us everybody's dying

6. our mother's hearts are bleeding
give our old wounds time for healing

7. can't you see the suffering and sadness in our face
is there nothing but misery and death to embrace

8. we were told we were a proud and happy nation
we were told our land is the cradle of civilization

9. we are told these are the worst of times
in the name of justice they commit their crimes

10.is our death the price to do what's right
should our souls be taken to end the fight

11. we are as innocent as children can be
we only differ in the faces you see

12. they argue who's the villain who's to blame
bargaining with our lives in a political game

13. what's politics, who's Clinton, we know Hussain
all we need is an end to our misery and pain

14. we are being killed by sanctions, it's real
if it was your children how would you feal

15.Oh you good people tell the world our plight
remind them a dying child is a horrible sight

16. reach out for us with a generous hand make politicians
and their followers understand

17.we don't want from them a lot to give
just tell them to let us live, let us live
