William Nessen - national speaking tour

From 25 November to 2 December 2003 journalist William (Billy) Nessen, eye-witness to the biggest ever Indonesian armed forces offensive in Aceh earlier this year, will be speaking and presenting a data show of photos in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Whangarei.

He has a unique story - it is a once only opportunity to hear a first hand account of the war in Aceh.

Billy, was detained by Indonesian authorities after they had repeatedly told him to stop travelling with members of the separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM) during the offensive.

Billy is coming to Aotearoa with the support of the Indonesian Human Rights Committee, and other peace and social justice groups. If you can contribute to the costs of the speaking tour or wish to arrange an interview with Billy, please contact Indonesian Human Rights Committee. For local contacts, see below.
