MISSION STATEMENT
To encourage arts and health practitioners to work together
towards better prevention and management of health issues
MEMBERSHIP AND BENEFITS
GOAL: To develop a membership base large enough to support
information sharing, utilisation of members' skills and provide a
sound financial base
STRATEGIES:
- Entice appropriate people to become members
- Promote areas of expertise of members
- Raise the awareness amongst health practitioners, arts practitioners
and the public of the objectives of AMANZ
TASKS:
- Create a promotional pamphlet through which to gain new members by 30 October 1999
- Prepare up-dated mailing lists by 31 August 1999
- Produce listings of members biannually in Newsletters
- Continue to seek advertising and discount opportunities by
contacting any appropriate businesses and organisations
NEWSLETTER
GOAL: To provide Newsletters
STRATEGIES:
- Provide an information network for health and arts practitioners
- Give Members the opportunity to have a voice
- Publish relevant articles, reviews and advertisements
TASKS:
- Produce a minimum of four Newsletters annually.
- In 1999/2000:
- information must be supplied by 31/10/99, 29/2/00, 31/5/00, 31/8/00, 15/11/00
- newsletters will be circulated by 30/11/99, 31/3/00, 30/6/00, 30/9/00, 15/12/00
- Assist in seeking and promoting membership advantages
- Invite members and the wider arts and health industries to supply
information through each Newsletter and direct mail approaches
- Secure a minimum of $200 worth of advertising for each Newsletter
- Collate, format, print and post Newsletters
EDUCATION/TRAINING
GOAL: To educate health and arts practitioners
STRATEGIES:
- Organise workshops, seminars, conferences
- Create dialogue between arts and health practitioners
- Stimulate and foster research
- Raise standards in training and execution of artistic endeavours
- Raise standards in treatment of arts injuries and conditions
TASKS:
- Organise a minimum of four seminars in Wellington in 1999 and in 2000
- Encourage organisation/partnership of a minimum of 4 seminars in other
centres
- Address at least two organisations per annum
- Assist at least two research projects per annum
- Encourage inclusion of arts medicine into Medical School and other
allied technical training courses and accreditation
COMMUNICATION
GOAL: To enhance the profile of AMANZ nationally and internationally
STRATEGIES:
- Profile AMANZ wherever possible
- Provide opportunities for networking
TASKS:
- Maintain Internet website
- Produce at least 4 Newsletters per annum
- Produce a brochure
- Write at least 4 articles per annum for other magazines/newsletters
- Present a report to the annual SMNZ AGM
- Liaise with the Ministry of Education, ACC and other appropriate
Government agencies
- Maintain communication with BAPAM and other Arts Medicine organisations internationally
- Establish a Helpline
ADVOCACY
GOAL: To advocate for safe and informed arts medicine practices
STRATEGIES:
- Comment on issues
- Respond to situations
TASKS:
- Appoint a spokesperson
- Read and react on relevant issues
