Kapatiran Issue
No. 27/28, April 2007
EDITORIAL APOLOGY
- Murray Horton
Once again I owe long-suffering PSNA members an apology
for the big gap between issues of Kapatiran. I am fully
aware that this is the first one since 2005. I can only
plead pressure of other commitments. I am the paid worker
for both the Campaign Against Foreign Control of Aotearoa
(CAFCA) and the Anti-Bases Campaign (ABC) and I have to
give them priority over PSNA work (which is voluntary).
Not least, I am responsible for the publication of
Foreign Control Watchdog and Peace Researcher, which
involves a large amount of writing and editing (Watchdog
averages up to 80 pages per issue, three times a year).
PR used to be a co-editorship, but now I am solely
responsible for it. So, Im afraid, Kapatiran comes
third out of three and I cant give you any
indication that things are going to change any time soon.
However, I can guarantee that although it might be tardy,
Kapatiran is always substantial and always worth reading.
That last issue was the biggest ever and this one is a
respectable size as well, full of fascinating material
that you wont find anywhere else.
Those of you on e-mail know that PSNA has been very busy
online in the long gap since the last hard copy Kapatiran
came out. My lead article in this issue details some of
the work that we did in 2006, and continue to do in 2007,
in response to the gravely deteriorating political
situation in the Philippines. We have been very, very
active. So, my advice is, if you want to regularly
receive stuff from PSNA, send us your e-mail address, and
youll hear from us a lot more often.
PSNA has a big year ahead, with another NZ speaking tour
planned (see the fundraising appeal flyer enclosed with
this issue) and plenty of other projects to keep us busy.
Thanks for bearing with us. And in recognition of your
patience, we are not charging anyone membership for 2006,
but will start afresh from 2007.
